The Department of Foreign Affairs presents its compliments to the Embassy of the Kingdom
of the Netherlands, and has the honour to confirm receipt of Note no. 52 of 8 February
1999 concerning the proposal with reference to article 41, paragraph 2 of the Convention
based on Article K.3 of the Treaty on European Union, on the establishment of a European
Police Office (Europol Convention, 26 July 1995) that the privileges and immunities
necessary for the proper performance of the tasks of the liaison officers at Europol
be agreed upon as set out in the Attachment.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has the honour to inform the Embassy that the Government
of Ireland agrees to the contents of the above-mentioned Note, and that the Embassy's
Note and this Note expressing the agreement of the Government of Ireland shall constitute
an Agreement between Ireland and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which shall enter
into force on the first day of the month following the day on which both Parties have
informed each other in writing that the legal requirements for entry into force have
been complied with.
The Department of Foreign Affairs avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the
Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands the assurances of its highest consideration.
