Sir,

I have the honour to refer to the discussions which have taken place between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Refugee Organization and to confirm that the International Refugee Organization is desirous to see that the Agreement between the Netherlands Government and the International Refugee Organization of June 20, 1950, providing for the assistance to 30 aged refugees under the mandate of the International Refugee Organization, and to their 10 dependents, be extended to six additional aged refugees, who are beneficiaries under annuity insurance policies, issued by the Life Assurance Company of the Netherlands Insurance Company.

I am in the position to state that the International Refugee Organization agrees to pay the total cost of the premium of these policies, or Dutch guilders 16.751 (sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty-one).

I have the honour to refer in particular to article 2 of the Agreement of June 20, 1950, and to enquire whether the Netherlands Government would be agreeable to the extension of this article to the six aged refugees in question and, if so, I may suggest that this Note and Your Excellency's reply thereto should be regarded as constituting an Additional Agreement to the Agreement concluded on June 20, 1950.

I have the honour to refer to your Note of today, in which you were good enough to inform me:

• 1) that the International Refugee Organization is desirous to see that the Agreement between the Netherlands Government and the International Refugee Organization of June 20, 1950, providing for the assistance to 30 aged refugees under the mandate of the International Refugee Organization and to their 10 dependents, be extended to six additional aged refugees, who are beneficiaries under annuity insurance policies, issued by the Life Assurance Company of the Netherlands Insurance Company;

• 2) that the International Refugee Organization agrees to pay the total cost of the premium of these policies, or Dutch guilders 16.751 (sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty-one).

I have the honour to confirm the Netherlands Government's acceptance of this extension and their concurrence in your suggestion that your Note, and the present Note in reply thereto, should be regarded as constituting an Additional Agreement to the Agreement between the Netherlands Government and the International Refugee Organization of June 20, 1950.

Ik heb de eer te verwijzen naar de besprekingen die hebben plaats gevonden tussen het Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken en de Internationale Vluchtelingen Organisatie en te bevestigen, dat de Internationale Vluchtelingen Organisatie gaarne zag dat de Overeenkomst tussen de Nederlandse Regering en de Internationale Vluchtelingen Organisatie van 20 Juni 1950, welke voorziet in de ondersteuning van 30 bejaarde vluchtelingen onder mandaat van de Internationale Vluchtelingen Organisatie en aan hun tien gezinsleden, eveneens gold voor nog zes bejaarde vluchtelingen, die begunstigden zijn krachtens lijfrente-verzekeringspolissen, uitgegeven door de Levensverzekeringmaatschappij van de Nederlandse Verzekering Maatschappij.

Ik kan verklaren dat de Internationale Vluchtelingen Organisatie ermede accoord gaat de totale kosten van de premie van deze polissen te betalen, te weten 16 751 (zestien duizend zevenhonderd een en vijftig) Nederlandse guldens.

Ik heb de eer in het bijzonder te verwijzen naar Artikel 2 van de Overeenkomst van 20 Juni 1950 en te vragen of de Nederlandse Regering instemt met de uitbreiding van dit Artikel tot de betreffende zes bejaarde vluchtelingen, en in het bevestigende geval moge ik voorstellen om deze Nota en Uwer Excellentie's antwoord daarop te beschouwen als vormend een Aanvullende Overeenkomst op de Overeenkomst van 20 Juni 1950.

Gelief, Excellentie, de hernieuwde verzekering van mijn zeer bijzonder hoogachting te aanvaarden.

• 1) dat de Internationale Vluchtelingen Organisatie gaarne zag dat de Overeenkomst tussen de Nederlandse Regering en de Internationale Vluchtelingen Organisatie van 20 Juni 1950 welke voorziet in de ondersteuning van 30 bejaarde vluchtelingen onder mandaat van de Internationale Vluchtelingen Organisatie en aan hun tien gezinsleden eveneens gold voor nog zes bejaarde vluchtelingen, die begunstigden zijn krachtens lijfrente-verzekeringspolissen, uitgegeven door de Levensverzekeringmaatschappij van de Nederlandse Verzekering Maatschappij;
