The Royal Netherlands Embassy presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of the United Republic of Tanzania and has the honour to inform the Ministry
that it is the understanding of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands that
all the Dutch experts, recruited in pursuance of the Agreement concerning Technical
Co-operation between the two Governments signed at the Hague on 27th April, 1965 and
who are wholly or partially remunerated by the Netherlands Government will, as from
the date of the entry into force of the said Agreement, be exempted from the payment
of local taxes (including income tax) levied by the Government of the United Republic
of Tanzania on incomes accruing from sources outside Tanzania.
The Embassy would appreciate it if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would confirm that
the foregoing is also the understanding of the Government of the United Republic of
Tanzania, and that this note and the Ministry's reply thereto shall constitute an
agreed interpretation between the two Governments on this matter.
The Royal Netherlands Embassy avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of the United Republic of Tanzania the assurances of its highest
consideration.
